Electronic Ignition Conversion
This electronic ignition module is suitable for older vehicles which still uses points and condensor.
It will work on 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines.
I personally converted most of my old vehicles to this system. On all them I experienced easier start, better throttle response, better performance and better fuel consumption.
You also do not have to constantly adjust the point gap or replace supressors.
It became standard for me to install the MrCarman system on my old cars.
My list so far where I successfully used it is: 1971 Ford Ranchero 6 Cylinder, 1956 Pointiac Chieftain 6 Cyl, 1955 Pointiac Strato Streak V8, Land Rover series 2A petrol, Nissan L28, 2x Toyota 4y in SFA Hilux.
On some of the old cars like the Pontiac, I install the unit inside the car under the dash and only send the wires to the engine bay. That way you do not destroy the authenticity of the car that much and an untrained eye will never guess that you converted.
By replacing the condenser with the MrCarMan module you combine the mechanical reliability of points and the performance gain of an electronic ignition system.
The points now act only as a pulse trigger, thus triggering only an extremely low current. Because the points now only switch milivolts it will never burn and will probably outlast your vehicle.
The MrCarMan ignition module ensures optimum spark delivered throughout the rev range, creating a more efficient ignition system than the old condensor system.
This will improve performance and economy.
When your car has an old points type coil, replace it with a coil suitable for electronic ignition.
Note that this unit is NOT Suitable for Positive Earth vehicles! (As I found out on my MGB)
You will have to convert your vehicle to negative earth to fit it, thus loosing the originality of your vehicle.
Installing is quick and easy.
